Man Withdraws High Court Injunction Petition
The man who petitioned the High Court for an injunction to prevent his girlfriend from travelling to England for an abortion, has withdrawn his case.
The man had claimed that he believed his girlfriend was being forced into the trip to the UK, and did in fact want to continue with the pregnancy.
He had asked for an injunction to allow time to determine if the pregnant woman was acting of her own free will.
According to RTÉ, a sworn statement was issued this morning by the woman saying that she planned to continue the pregnancy and that the man would withdraw his petition.
It was reported that the couple sat together in court and embraced after the hearing, according to RTÉ.
