Met Éireann Warns Of Widespread Drought
The majority of Ireland is currently experiencing a drought, Met Éireann has confirmed.
According to the forecaster, 20 national weather stations have reported just 0.1mm of rainfall in the last 15 days.
The remaining five weather stations reported rain showers on July 7 or over the weekend, excluding them from the drought categorisation.
The weather is predicted to become cooler over the next week, with the possibility of heavy showers of thunderstorms for some areas.

Two Status Yellow Weather Warnings For Wind And Rain
Two Status Yellow weather warnings have been issued by national forecast Met Éireann. A wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry will come into force at 3pm today, Friday 10 January. Met Éireann said that south to southwest winds 50 to 65 km/hr, with gusts up 90 to 110 km/hr, are expected across the region.

Met Eireann Issues Orange Weather Warning
Met Eireann has issued an orange weather warning for heavy rainfall this afternoon, 06 June. Thundery conditions are expected in some parts of Ireland and flooding may occur. The showers are expected to continue to break out through the rest of the day, most like across Leinster and the Northwest.

Met Eireann Issue Severe Weather Warning
As heavy rain and strong winds continue to batter Ireland a severe weather warning has been issued for at least the next 24 hours. Met Éireann has released the warning and are advising motorists to exercise extreme care on the roads where spot flooding and debris are making driving conditions dangerous.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued For Heavy Rain
A yellow weather warning for rain has been put in place across many counties in Ireland. The warning came into effect at 11pm on Sunday night, 13 October, and is in place until 11.59pm on Monday, 14 October. The warning is for Munster, Connacht, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Offaly and Westmeath.

ESB Crews Continuing To Deal With Faults
ESB Networks are continuing to work on repairing and restoring electricity networks damaged by bad weather overnight. According to ESB the number of customers without power has been reduced from some 10,000 to around 4,000 and crews are continuing to deal with faults.
