Man To Be Charged With Herbal Cannabis Seizure

A man is to appear in court in connection with the seizure of 60kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.2m.

The drugs were found inside a Northern Ireland registered trailer that had arrived into Rosslare on a ferry from Cherbourg.

Two men, both in their 20s and from the north, were arrested.

One of the men was released without charge, the second man will appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court.

Man To Appear In Court Over Co Meath Burglary
A 38-year-old man is due to appear at Navan District Court charged in connection with a burglary in Ashbourne, Co Meath. It is understood that a homeowner returning to her house saw an unknown male inside her property at around 4:30pm on Saturday, 22 January. She immediately left the area and contacted Garda.

Man To Appear In Court Over Sligo Murder
A 33-year-old man is due to appear in court charged in connection with the murder of a woman in Sligo town. The man was arrested by gardaí following the discovery of the woman's body at a house on Mailcoach Road at about 10:30 on Wednesday morning. When officers arrived at the scene, the man was found carrying a knife.

Man To Appear In Court Over Aggravated Burglary In Longford
A 34-year-old man is to appear in court in Longford on Monday, 12 October, charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in Edgeworthstown on Saturday. Three men entered a property and threatened the occupants. The trio fled the scene, however one man was arrested by gardaí following the incident.
