Over 280 Jobs To Be Lost At M&S And Superquinn

One hundred and eighty jobs are to go with the closure of four Marks & Spencer stores in Ireland.

Mullingar and Tallaght's M&S stores will be closed alongside two Simply Food stores in Naas and Dún Laoghaire, due to them being unprofitable, the retailer announced.

However, the firm also said that some 250 will be created in Limerick when a new M&S store opens.

And Musgraves have announced that 102 jobs will be cut at the Superquinn head office in Lucan, Dublin, over the next 18 months.

Musgrave also announced that all 24 of its Superquinn stores will become Supervalu shops instead. Adding that the Superquinn job losses will not affect shop floor staff, but will instead come from HR, finance and marketing.
