Irish Citizens Advised To Leave Yemen 'Immediately'
Irish citizens in Yemen have been advised to "leave immediately".
It follows both the UK and the US pulling all consulate staff from the country and telling all other citizens to leave due to potential terrorist attacks.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has followed by warning that due to continuing violence in the country and the increased potential for terrorist attacks, kidnapping and tribal violence, Irish citizens should not travel to Yemen for any reason.
The department went on to warn that as Ireland has "no resident mission in Yemen", it is "unlikely that we would be able to offer any practical consular assistance in the event of a further deterioration of the security situation".
"Irish citizens are therefore advised to leave immediately".
