Unions To Discuss M&S Redundancy Terms
Soon-to-be redundant M&S employees are to meet with union officials to discuss redundancy terms.
On Wednesday, M&S announced that it is to close four of its stores in Ireland, with the loss of 180 jobs.
It is understood that the stores, in Tallaght, Naas, Dun Laoghaire and Mullingar, were found to be unprofitable and the decision to close them was taken following a strategic review.
Staff at the stores are represented by SIPTU and Mandate, with the latter representing some 95% of the staff.

300 Staff Laid Off As HMV Stores Remain Closed
The receiver of HMV, Deloitte, has confirmed that 300 staff will be made redundant and 16 stores will remain closed. All of its stores were making a loss and a buyer was unable to be found. The staff had temporarily been laid off in January. The employees will receive statutory redundancy pay.

Fintrax Urged To Clarify Workers Redundancy Payments
The management of Fintrax has been urged to inform workers from their Data Processing Centre in Connemara where they stand in relation to redundancy payments. News that 30 workers at the centre in An Tulach are to lose their jobs has been described by Sinn Féin Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh, as "regrettable".
