Water Meter Roll-Out Begins In Co Kildare

Co Kildare has become the first place to have the new water meters installed, as the roll-out commenced this morning.

It is expected that the first bills generated by the new meters will be issued on January 2015.

Irish Water has said that people will receive notification if they are due to have a meter installed, which should shouldn't cause more than a few hours disruption to water supply during fitting.

The firm hope to have more than one million meters fitted by the end of 2016.
