Irishman Assaulted In Boston Attack

A 33-year-old Irishman has been left fighting for his life in a Boston hospital after a serious assualt.

Gary Halpin, a freelance designer originally from Carrigaloe in Cobh, Co Cork, is reported to have suffered serious head injuries in an assault in the Adams Village of Dorchester in Boston.

The married father of one was attacked less than one kilometre from his home, authorities have said.

Police found Mr Halpin lying in a car park at around 04:15am on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

His condition is understood to be stable but serious.
