Senator Welcomes 70 New Jobs In Shannon

Fire safety products manufacturer, EI Electronics, has said it is to create 70 new jobs in Shannon.

The expansion will take its workforce in the area to 500.

News of the announcement was welcomed by Clare senator Martin Conway, who said the move will have a direct benefit for a large number of individuals and families.

Welcoming the news, the Fine Gael senator said: "I am delighted that EI Electronics has decided to expand its operation in Shannon with the creation of 70 jobs.

"This expansion will make a significant difference to the wider region, and will undoubtedly lead to additional jobs being created in connected industries. The success of the workforce in EI Electronics is also proof that our indigenous companies can prosper and thrive.

"It also highlights the continuous efforts of the Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton, in fostering an environment in which jobs can be created in the current challenging economic climate."
