IRA Suspect Has Bail 'Adjusted' To Attend Hurling Final

A man charged with membership of the IRA and firearms offences has successfully petitioned to have his bail conditions "adjusted", allowing him to attend the All-Ireland hurling final.

30-year-old Anthony Carroll was arrested in February as part of a garda crackdown on dissident activity.

His bail conditions included signing on daily at a garda station, surrendering his passports, obeying a curfew and not associating with anyone charged or convicted at the Special Criminal Court.

On Thursday, Mr Carroll was successful in his attempt to have his conditions temporarily changed to allow him to attend the hurling final in Dublin on Sunday.

Agreeing, the court have lifted his curfew for Saturday and Sunday.
