Body Recovered In River Search
A man has drowned following an incident in the Avoca River in County Wicklow in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Two men went into the river from the Marine Village apartments, where it is believed they both lived.
One man who raised the alarm survived the incident.
The other man, who was in his 40s, was recovered by search teams at the scene, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A garda forensics team is currently carrying out an investigation.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

River Water Quality Is Deteriorating - EPA
River water quality is deteriorating, according to findings from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has published the Water Quality in Ireland Report for the period 2013-2018. 92% of groundwater bodies, 80% of coastal waters, 53% of rivers, 50% of lakes and 38% of estuaries were found to be of satisfactory quality.

Fisherman's Body Identified
The body of a fisherman, found off the south Co Wexford coast, has been identified. John Ennis went missing 31 days ago after the boat he was in sank 45 metres from shore between Duncannon and Arthurstown.

Man's Body Recovered From River Lee
Emergency workers have recovered a body of a young man from the River Lee in Cork. It is believed the 22-year-old man got into difficulty while attempting to swim to a dinghy in the middle of the river. The Emergency Services took the body from the water shortly after 9am at Pope's Quay at low tide in a recovery operation.

Gardaí searching for a 33-year-old man have recovered a body from the River Nore in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Officers have been searching for Derek Tyrrell since he was swept away by strong currents in the river in the early hours of Sunday morning.
