Man Dies In Road Traffic Crash

Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Castle Street, Trim, at approximately 12.50am this morning.

A male pedestrian in his 40s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. A second male in his 20s was also struck by the car and has been taken to Our Lady's Hospital Drogheda with injuries described as serious. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Road Accident Tragedy Probed

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Traffic Crash In Co Galway
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision at Carrownhuineagh, Dunmore, Co Galway. A 21-year-old male driver was killed when the car he was driving was collided with another car at 8.30pm on Monday, 09 October. A male passenger in the vehicle, also aged 21, received minor injuries.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Male Pedestrian Killed In Hit And Run
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Trim on thursday, 16 February. Amale pedestrian, aged in his 20s, was found with fatal injuries at the side of the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road at approximately 8.50pm. The man is understood to have been hit by a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
