Gardaí Appeal For Information Over Elaine O'Hara Disappearance And Death

Gardaí investigating the disappearance and death of Elaine O’Hara have appealed for anyone she had contact with before she went missing in August 2012 to contact them.

Human remains found last week in the Killakee Mountain in Rathfarnham have been confirmed as belonging to Ms O'Hara, who was 36.

At another site in Roundwood, Co Wicklow, some 20 kilometres away, personal items and clothing found have also been confirmed as belonging to Ms O'Hara.

Gardaí also said that handcuffs and leg restraints were recovered at the second site and they are now working to establish if they are connection Ms O'Hara's disappearance and death.

An incident room has been set up at Blackrock Garda Station and a general appeal for information has been issued.

Gardaí say they are particularly interested in speaking to people who may have had contact with Ms O'Hara up until the time she disappeared on 22 August 2012.

Man Arrested Over Corcoran Disappearance
A man has been arrested this morning in connection with the disappearance of a pensioner. Shortly after 8.00am today, Gardaí in Bandon investigating the disappearance of Ann Corcoran from County Cork arrested a 49-year-old male on suspicion of murder.

HSE To Reconsider Decision On MS Drug
The Health Service Executive's (HSE) drug committee is to meet for a second time to discuss a new drug for multiple sclerosis. The committee had previously decided not to fund the drug Fampyra, aka Frampridine, over the drugs high price. The drug, which is used to help MS sufferers walk, had been free until July of this year.
