Viable Explosive Device Made Safe In Co Kildare
An explosive device discovered at a house in Co Kildare has been made safe by Army bomb disposal experts.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called to an address in Ballitore, Co Kildare, at around 4.40am on Thursday following the discovery of the device.
The device was confirmed as viable before being made safe and subsequently removed to a military location. The scene was declared safe at around 6am.
A technical examination of the device is now due to be carried out.
It follows the discovery and making safe of two other explosive devices in Limerick on Wednesday.

A viable explosive device has been made safe during a security operation in Co Kildare. Gardaí responded to a report of a suspect device in Leixlip on Monday night. Army bomb disposal experts examined the device and declared it 'viable'. The device was made safe just after midnight.

A viable explosive device has been made safe in Co Cork. According to reports, a controlled explosion was carried out on the device on Friday (13 February). The object was discovered outside a house in the Knocknaheeney area at around 10am this morning. A number of nearby homes were evacuated and roads were closed.

A second security alert in Co Londonderry within 24 hours has been cleared. A crude device was found outside a vacant property on Main Street in Tobermore on Friday morning. It has been suggested that the device may have been thrown at the house but failed to go off. The alert began around 7.
