Investigation Team To Review Dáil Protest CCTV

A special gardaí investigation team has been established to look at violent clashes between officers and protesters outside the Dáil earlier this week.

Following the arrests of three people and three others requiring hospital treatment, the investigation will review CCTV video of the areas where protesters confronted gardaí at crush barriers.

It is believed that some 600 people were involved in the main protest, but that a group of around 100 broke away and clashed with gardaí officers.

Pepper-spray was also used in one incident when protesters tried to push past gardaí barriers.
