SIPTU Ballot Aer Lingus Workers Over Strike Action

Workers at Aer Lingus are to be balloted again over possible strike action in an ongoing dispute over pensions.

Trade uion SIPTU has accused the airline of "deliberately frustrating the resolution of the pension process by multiple means" and being "insulting and disingenuous".

It is understood that workers will be asked to consider action up to and including the full withdrawal of labour.

The pension dispute has been long running at Aer Lingus and follows the discovery of a significant shortfall that has not yet been address by the Pensions Board of the airlines trustees.
