Articulated Lorry Racers Jailed
Three lorry drivers have been jailed over an incident in which the three men race their articulated lorries along a main road.
It is understood that the men held the race on the main route from Tralee to Limerick to raise money for charity.
The race was brought to the attention of gardaí after a video of the three lorries racing side-by-side along the main road was uploaded to YouTube and subsequently reported to the national traffic bureau.
The men, Lorcan Regan (20), of Mein, Knocknagoshel, Co Kerry, and Polish nationals Slawomir Kupiec (36), of Clonough Drive, Limerick Road, Castleisland, and Krzysztof Sokolowski (33), of Main Street, Castleisland, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at Tralee District Court in October last year, at which point the judge vowed to give them jail time.
The men will spend two nights in jail.
