Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery Foiled By Passing Garda Patrol

Gardaí have foiled an attempted cash-in-transit van robbery in Clondalkin, west Dublin.

According to garda at around 11:20am two men approached a guard from the van as he made a delivery at the Bawnogue Shopping Centre, threatening him with a firearm.

As the men made their escape in a car with a sum of money a passing gardaí patrol followed the car, stopping it a short distance away at Kilmahuddrick.

One man was arrested and a sum of money and firearm were recovered.

A second man is understood that have escaped and garda are continuing to search for him.

An appeal has issued asking for witnesses to the robbery to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 -6667600, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda Station.

Two Arrested In Connection With Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery in Dublin. The men, aged in their 20s and 60s, have been detained by Gardai in connection with the incident which happened on Fortunestown Way last October. Both men are being held at Tallaght Garda Station where they can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

Man Arrested Over Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery early on Friday morning. It is understood that a number of armed men held up the van at about 07:40am on Cork Street in Dublin, making off with a sum of money.

Arrested Follows Limerick Bank Robbery
A man has been arrested following a bank robbery in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on Monday morning. Three males wearing florescent jackets entered the Bank of Ireland branch on Lord Edward Street in Kilmallock at around 11.10am, threatening staff using an as yet unknown implement. Gardaí identified the weapon, but do not believe it to be a firearm.

Gunman Arrested In Dublin
Gardai in Dublin have arrested a man after an attempted armed robbery of a pub in Chapelizod, early this morning. Officers were called to The Villager pub at around 1am. The man, armed with a shotgun, was demanding cash from the barman when two gardai entered. The gunman turned his weapon on one of the officers, who disarmed him and made an arrest.

Cash-In-Transit Robbery Foiled By Off-Duty Garda
An armed cash-in-transit robbery has been stopped by an off-duty garda officer in Ratoath, Co Meath. According to reports a man armed with what appeared to be a gun approached a security guard collecting as he collected cash at a shopping centre in Ratoath.
