Examiner Appointed to Shoe Company Carl Scarpa

Eighty jobs are at risk following the announcement that Irish shoe retailer Carl Scarpa has entered examinership.

Accounting firm Kavanagh Fennell was yesterday appointed as examiner for the Irish shoe company, which has been in business since 1974.

CS Calzature and Carl Scarpa, the company behind the brand, have 21 outlets across Ireland and the UK.

It is understood however, that Kavanagh Fennell have expressed confidence that the company can survive.

Limerick Firm Announce Jobs' Boost With Expansion Plan
Limerick-based digital consumer engagement company, Payback Loyalty, has announced the creation of 28 new jobs. The jobs will be based in Limerick's National Technology Park and are being created as part of a €2.5m expansion plan. The investment is being supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
