Investigation Follows Dublin Blazes

Gardaí have launched an investigation following a series of fires in Dublin yesterday evening.

The suspicious blazes led Dublin Fire Brigade to attend three separate incidents in the Darndale area in the northside of the city within just over an hour.

The first fire began at three unoccupied houses in the Buttercup Park estate at about 9.10pm.

At about 9.30pm another blaze was reported at Summerhill Spares in the Malahide Road Industrial Park.

Then, shortly after 10pm, a third fire began at an industrial unit at PC Kitchens.

Fire brigade units from the southside had to be called in to assist with the demand.

Fire services have said a link between the three fires cannot be ruled out.

An investigation has been launched, and a forensic examination is due to take place to determine how the fires started.
