Aer Lingus Cut 87 Cabin Crew At Shannon

A total of 87 cabin crew jobs are to be cut at Shannon Airport, Aer Lingus has said.

According to the airline, the cuts are due to staff refusing to fly new transatlantic routes using smaller planes and fewer staff.

It is understood staff will be offered the options of redeployment to Dublin or Cork, voluntary severance, or possibly redundancy.

However, a spokesman declined to confirm whether there would be compulsory redundancies.
