Drummonds Ltd Fined Over Workers Deaths
A fine of €125,00 has been issued against grain company Drummonds Ltd over the death of two men in August 2009.
Father-of-three, Paul Farrell (34) and student Terry Brennan (19) died while working in an elevator pit over a grain silo at the plant in Knockbridge, Co Louth.
The company pleaded guilty to a single breach of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work regulations at Dundalk Circuit Court.

Miners Protest Postponed In Co Meath
Tara Mines workers in Co Meath have postponed a scheduled protest in Dublin following confirmation of a drastic reduction in their flat rate expenses. Workers at the zinc and lead mine were due to take action outside Leinster House in Dublin today, 04 December, over the expense implementation due in the New Year.

Domestic Workers Launch Week Of Action
To mark International Labour Day the Domestic Workers Action Group (DWAG) has launched a week of action from today, 1st May, to 7th May. The DWAG is calling on the Government to establish more robust laws and regulations to prevent exploitation and to protect vulnerable workers whose rights have been grossly violated.

Fastfood Workers Say Wages Under Attack
Dublin's fast food staff are taking to the streets on Wednesday to highlight their anger over whet they describe is an attack by the industry on their wages. Members of the Restaurant and Catering Workers Forum said they are gathering in Dublin city centre at lunchtime to oppose the reduction to their wages.
