Cork Garda Hunting Hit And Run Driver
Gardaí in Cork are hunting for the driver of a white van, who is wanted in connection with a fatal hit and run incident in the city centre.
According to Gardaí a 25-year-old man was struck by a white van, thought to be a Ford Transit, as he crossed the road on George's Quay.
The van drove off after hitting the man in the direction of Sullivan’s Quay.
It is understood that a number of people tended to the man before paramedics arrived a few minutes later.
He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The scene was sealed off to undergo a forensic examination and gardaí interviewed a number of witnesses.
Detailed analysis of CCTV is also being carried out.
The victim has not been named as relatives have yet to be informed.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

The victim, believed to have been in his 20s, sustained serious head injuries when a bus hit him, following a confrontation at the junction of Dawson Street and Nassau Street. Gardaí are still trying to identify him.
