Search For Human Remains Concludes

A search of lands in Clonee, Co Meath for the remains of Christopher Gaffney has come to an end.

The partial remains of a man were discovered on Friday and Saturday in the town of Mayne, then on Sunday a body part was recovered in a stream.

The remains have been identified as those of Christopher Gaffney, 37, a convicted drug dealer.

Mr Gaffney, who was from Blanchardstown in Dublin, was reported missing last month.

A murder investigation has now been launched and gardaí have appealed for information.

They have asked any one who had spoken with or had contact with Mr Gaffney in the past two months to contact the Gardai in Ashbourne. They are also appealing for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area of Mayne to contact them.
