ASTI Agreed To Enter Formal Haddington Road Talks

Renewed talks are underway between representatives of the Department of Education and Skills and the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland, in a bid to resolve the dispute over the Haddington Road Agreement.

ASTI are the only union to reject the proposed agreement, and have been refusing to hold talks outside of school hours.

It is understood that following informal contact between the two side, ASTI agreed to proceed with formal talks.

It is hoped that the talks will resolve the ongoing disagreement.
