Man Jailed Over €340,000 Fraud

A 47-year-old man has been jailed for five year after pleading guilty to defrauding his employer of €340,000.

At Cork Circuit Cork Dadibaku Ngnupumu, a Congolese national, admitted using a computer to "make gain for himself, or loss to another" at Avery Dennison at Cork Airport Business Park on 22 February 2013.

Ngnupumu from Apartment 1, 25 Gillabbey Street, Cork also pleaded guilty to attempting to defraud his employer of a further €304,000.

It is understood that none of the money Ngnupumu secured in bank accounts in Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg, has been recovered.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Manhunt After Two Stabbed In Cork
Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Man Held Over Fatal Crash Released
A man held in connection with a fatal road accident in Co Cork yesterday has been released by Gardaí. The man was arrested after a fatal accident in County Cork in the early hours of yesterday morning. Two men in their 20s were killed in the head on collision of two vehicles at approximately 2.
