Garda Investigate Horse Burnt Alive In Tallaght
An investigation is underway after a horse was doused in petrol and burnt alive in the Killinarden area of Tallaght, Dublin.
It is the latest in a number of incidents in the area in the last few days, gardaí have said.
It is understood that the horse was set on fire in the early hours of Thursday morning. Gardaí say they suspect three teenagers were involved.
Five other horses have been removed from the green area where the burnt horse was found.
In a previous incident, gardaí were called to a fight between 13 and 14-year-old schoolboys, during which a petrol bomb was thrown.

Gardaí Investigate Horse Beaten To Death
An investigation has been launched in Co Wicklow after the discovery of the body of a badly beaten horse. A walker reported finding the body in a clearing at Ballymoyle wood, near Kilpatrick, at around 15:15 on Thursday. A local source is quoted by The Irish Times as saying that the horse looked like it had been beaten to death.

Gardaí Investigate Shooting In Cork City
Gardaí in Cork are investigating a shooting in the city in the early hours of Wednesday morning. They report that a shooting took place on St Michael's Drive, Blackrock at about 01:50. It is understood that shots were fired from a car at a parked car, while two men walked past. The car then sped off. No one was injured in the incident.

A man, aged in his 20s, was shot in the leg near Thomas Street in Dublin, in an area known as the Horse Yard, at about 9pm. The man is continuing to be treated in hospital, where his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Man Arrested In Michael Devoy Murder Investigation
Gardaí investigating the murder of Michael Devoy in January this year have arrested a man in his early 20s. A routine garda patrol in the Bohernabreena area of Tallaght, found the body of Mr Devoy on 18 January. He had been shot dead. Garda have confirmed they have arrested a man in his early 20s in connection with the murder.
