New Ferry Route To France And Spain Announced

A new ferry service between Ireland and western France and Ireland and northern Spain has been announced.

The LD Ferries Services will run between Rosslare in Co Wexford and St Nazaire on the west coast of France and Gijón in northern Spain.

Confirming the news of the new route, Minister for Transport Leo Varadker said: "This is a very welcome announcement and provides a valuable new landbridge from France and Spain into Ireland.

"It's the first service of its kind to Ireland, and it's great news for our tourism industry."

Computer and technology giant IBM have announced plans to open a new international services centre, with the creation of several hundred new jobs to coincide. The multinational, which already employs about 3,000 people in Ireland, is to open the centre in Mulhuddart, Dublin.
