DCC Announce Closure Of Motor Tax Office

Dublin City Council have announced the closure of Clondalkin Motor Tax Office on Christmas Eve.

It is claimed that the office is being closed due to a significant increase in the number of people using online tax services.

Opponents of the closure has raised concerns that other local authorities may consider closing motor tax offices to generate savings.

It is understood that staff at the office will be reassigned across other government vacancies.

The motor tax office in Clondalkin, South Dublin, is to close. Dublin City council said motor tax offices have experienced "a significant reduction in business" since the driver license processing was transferred to the national driver licence service (NDLS) at the end of October this year.
