LATI Announce Company Closure With Lose Of 411 Jobs
Over 400 staff at Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI) in Rathcoole, Co Dublin have received notice of employment termination as the company announced that is it to close it jet engine overhaul facility.
In November the company had announced that it was considering closing the company, subject to the results of a consultation with relevant parties.
It is understood that an offer to take over the facility by an outside party had not lead to an acceptable offer.

Limerick Firm Announce Jobs' Boost With Expansion Plan
Limerick-based digital consumer engagement company, Payback Loyalty, has announced the creation of 28 new jobs. The jobs will be based in Limerick's National Technology Park and are being created as part of a €2.5m expansion plan. The investment is being supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Up to 60 new jobs are expected to be created over the next 18 months. The US-based company, headquartered in Pleasanton, California, employs over 600 people on a worldwide basis.

Boost For Shannon Airport As Aer Lingus Expands Routes To The UK
Fine Gael Clare TD and Chair of the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee, Pat Breen, has said that the announcement that Aer Lingus is expanding its routes to the UK is yet another boost for Shannon Airport. The airline has announced it is opening a new service from Shannon to Bristol, with additional flights to Birmingham and Manchester.
