Man's Body Found In Co Offaly

A man's body has been found in a drain in County Offaly.

The body was discovered at approximately 8.45am at Kilbride.

Garda are treating the death as suspicious.

It is believed the victim, who has not been positively identified, was recently released from prison.

A caravan close by, in which he is thought to have lived in, was also found burned out.

State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy is to attend the scene this afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardai.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in Dublin. The body of the 43-year-old was found in a house in Rathgar Road in Rathmines just before midnight on Wednesday. A forensic examination is being carried out and the body remains at the scene.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Gardai Launch Murder Enquiry After Body Is Found In Co Offaly
Gardai investigating the discovery of the body of Christy Daly, 47, in a drain in County Offaly, on 7 January 2014 have upgraded their investigation to a murder enquiry. The body was discovered at Bog Road, Killbride, Clara. A post-mortem has now been carried out and Gardai will not be making the results public for operational reasons.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
