Four Injured In Apartment Fire

Four people, including a child, are receiving hospital treatment after being injured in a fire in Balbriggan, Co Dublin.

Emergency services were call at around 01:00 on Friday to an apartment at Landy's Court, Millstreet. It is understood that two adults and a child were in the apartment.

They are being treated for smoke inhalation at Beaumount and Temple Street hospitals.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Woman And Child Critical Following Apartment Fire
A woman and four children have been injured in an apartment fire in Inchicore, Dublin on Monday night. A woman, aged in her 30s, and an 8-year-old boy are said to be a critical condition following a fire at an apartment block on Tyrone Place at approximately 11.15pm. The woman is being treated at St James's Hospital.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Woman Dies In Limerick House Fire
A woman has died in a house fire in Limerick. The fire broke out at the house in Daly Avenue at around midnight. The woman, aged 47, was the only person in the property. She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she was pronounced dead. Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious.
