26-Year-Old Man Killed In Farming Accident

A man has been killed in a farming accident in Knockea, Co Cork.

According to reports the 26-year-old man was found trapped under a trailer at around 12:45am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the death has been launched by the Health and Safety Authority.

Child Fatally Injured In Farming Accident In Co Mayo
A four-year-old boy has died in a farming accident in Ballinaboy, Co Mayo. According to reports the child was fatally injured when he was hit by a trailer on the farm at about 21:00 on Wednesday. Gardaí said the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

Young Boy Killed In Wexford Farming Accident
A three-year-old boy has died following a farmyard accident in County Wexford. Gardaí said he was struck by a vehicle at Carrigabruise at around 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, 10 April. He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An investigation is under way.

Two Cork Plane Crash Victims Buried
The funerals of two of the Northern Ireland victims of the Cork air crash are due to be held later today. Pat Cullinan, a 45-year-old senior partner with the international accountancy firm KPMG, is to be buried after requiem mass in St Patrick's Church in the village of Cranagh near Plumbridge in Co Tyrone.

Praise For Rescued Pilot
The Air Rescue Department has praised the pilot that survived after ditching his aircraft off the coast of Wexford. Pilot John O’Shaughnessy performed a forced landing near Tuskar Rock lighthouse in Wexford when his two-seater Avid Speedwing suffered a power failure at about 4.45pm on Tuesday.

Pilot Rescued After Ditching Plane Off Wexford Coast
A lucky pilot has been rescued after his plane crashed into the sea off Co Wexford. The light aircraft, which is believed to have been flown from England, went down shortly before 5pm yesterday. The pilot was also believed to have been spotted standing on the wing of the submerged, but still floating, two-man plane by coincidence.
