CIF Predict 10,000 Job Boost For Construction Industry
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) have predicted that up to 10,000 jobs could be created in the construction industry in the coming year.
The CIF claim that the jobs boost will be driven by a demand for new housing and home renovation schemes.
Tom Parlon, CIF director, has said that it is the first time for optimism since the height of the property boom in 2007.

CIF Rejects National Pay Deal
The body representing Irish builders has voted down the pay terms detailed in the draft national social partnership agreement, calling for a 10% cut in pay rates in order to secure construction jobs. The Construction Industry Federation's Director General Tom Parlon announced the decision earlier this afternoon.

Irish Contractors Overlooked, Claims CIF
The Construction Industry Federation of Ireland has called for a review of the public procurement process. The body's call comes after a €1.5m development at Finner Camp was awarded to a Northern Ireland firm. Contractors in the north west region of Ireland had also bid for the project.
