Teachers Unions To Ballot Members Over Junior Cert Reforms

Two of the State's main teachers unions are to ballot their members on the proposed changes to the Junior Cert qualification.

The Teachers' Unions and ASTI have said that their members are concerned the government is not listening to calls for them to slow down on the proposed reforms.

The government have rejected those claims, with Minister for Education Ruairi Quinn saying that they are prepared to resolve issues.

The reforms are due to be phased in from September.
