Hospital And Consultants Apologise Over Baby's Death

The parents of a boy who died shortly after birth have received an apology from the hospital and obstetricians involved.

At the High Court Mount Carmel Hospital and consultant obstetricians Valerie Donnelly and Gerry Rafferty also acknowledged fault in the management of Roberta Dodd’s labour leading to the death of her son, Senan.

The apology was read out at the court as the family of Senan Dodd settled their action for mental distress and nervous shock for an undisclosed sum.

In 2008, Senan Dodd died two days after being born on 28 March.
