Men Arrested Over Contraband Cigarettes
Revenue Customs Service have arrested two polish men following the seizure of contraband tobacco.
In a planned search of a house in Tralee, Co Kerry, officers recoverd 46kgs of 'Pall Mall' and 'Turner' roll-your-own tobacco.
The tobacco is estimated to be worth €18,300, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of €14,800.
Businesses or members of the public with any information regarding the smuggling or sale of illegal cigarettes are asked to contact Revenue in confidence at 1800 295 295.

19,000 Cigarettes Seized At Dublin Airport
Revenue officers at Dublin Airport have seized 19,000 'Marlboro' brand cigarettes inside the luggage of a man arriving on a flight from Chisnau, via Istanbul. The contraband cigarettes were uncovered by detector dog "Lottie", and represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €7,000.

Dogs Seized At Dublin Port
Revenue officers have discovered four puppies and a young dog at Dublin Port. The puppies, approximately 12 weeks old, and a young dog were discovered when two Irish men who were travelling separately to the UK were stopped and questioned. The men did not have pet passports for the dogs as required under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.

Revenue officers have seized cigarettes and tobacco during a vehicle stop in Glanmire, Co Cork. Officers found 20,000 unstamped 'Aroma' branded cigarettes and 15 kgs of unstamped 'Flandria' tobacco, with an estimated retail value of more than €15,000, on Saturday, 26 September.

Approximately eight million illegal cigarettes have been seized by Revenue officers during an operation in Wexford. The cigarettes had arrived into Dublin Port from Vietnam via Rotterdam on Friday 10 June in a container which was consigned as 'Garden Furniture'. The contraband cigarettes, branded "Aroma", have a retail value in excess of €4.
