Mount Carmel Hospital Seek Liquidator
The directors of Mount Carmel Hospital have submitted an application to the courts seeking the appointment of a liquidator.
It is not yet known when the hospital is likely to close, but it is understood that NAMA will oversee an operational wind-down, with staff continuing to be paid in the interim.
The 300 staff at the Dublin hospital will, however, lose their jobs.
According to a report by RTÉ, two bids have been made for the hospital, but neither was acceptable.
