Counterfeit Uggs Worth €1m Seized In Cork

Counterfeit Ugg boots with an estimated value of €1 million have been seized by gardaí and customs officers in Cork.

The counterfeit boots were found during a raid on an industrial unit in Hollyhill at about 10:30 on Thursday. Two men, aged 59 and 29, were arrested following the search.

It is understood that gardaí are liaising with foreign police forces to try and establish the origin of the suspected fake goods.

Revenue officers have seized alcohol, cigarettes, cash and a vehicle during an operation in County Cork. During the search of a house near Macroom, Co. Cork, Revenue, assisted by detector dog Harvey, seized a total of 315 litres of alcohol in various stages of production along with the production apparatus, tanks and containers.

Manhunt After Two Stabbed In Cork
Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Trial Hears Man Felt Suicidal Ahead Of Attack On Neighbour
A man standing trial for murder told gardaí he paced around his flat feeling suicidal before going to the victim’s bedsit and stabbing him, the court has heard. 39-year-old Lloyd Buckley told gardaí that he was contemplating taking his own life after taking some heroin and he called to the nearby bedsit of Michael Healy (62).

Teen Arrested After Drugs Find In Dublin
A teenager has been arrested in connection with a drugs find in Dublin on Wednesday. Gardaí say the find was a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Lucan area.
