Waterford's Honeywell Process Solutions Announces Closure
A total of 27 full-time jobs are to be lost following the announcement that one of Waterford city's longest-established factories, Honeywell Process Solutions, is to close.
Staff at the company, formerly known as Measurex, were informed for the closure at a meeting today. Work carried out at the factory will be moved to Europe.
A statement from the company read: "(The company) continually evaluates its operations to ensure a competitive business model aimed at securing long-term growth and linked to the needs of our customers.
"After careful consideration, HPS leadership has proposed to close the Waterford site and redistribute work across the company.
"This proposal is being discussed with union representatives for affected employees."

Former Irish Times Editor Dies
Journalist Ella Shanahan, has passed away in her County Waterford home. Ms Shanahan, 60, was the former London Editor of The Irish Times. She will also be remembered for her work in the RTÉ newsroom in the 1970s.

Waterford Suffers 100 Job Losses
Waterford's manufacturing sector has suffered a major blow as 100 jobs from a major car parts plant are axed. Honeywell Ireland Transportation and Power Systems, which manufactures compressor and turbine wheel components for car engine turbo charges, has been experiencing difficulties since 2001 when 600 jobs looked to be in jeopardy.
