Toyota Call 700 Hybrid Cars In Ireland
Toyota have announced a global recall of some 1.9 million hybrid cars, affecting 700 cars in Ireland.
Customers will be contact directly by Toyota who say that the cars need to be returned for a software upgrade.
The fault is understood to cause the vehicle to slow down, eventually stopping altogether.
A statement from the company read: "In limited cases, the hybrid system might shut down and the vehicle will stop, perhaps while being driven."
It is understood that the fault may cause the vehicle to stop while being driven but the company have assured customers that any stoppage would not be sudden.

17 People Arrested In Warrants Search Operations
Gardaí have arrested 17 people in a series of raids in the Tallaght and Rathfarnham areas. Garda staged a "day of action" on Thursday 27 June in an operation targeting people wanted by the courts for various drugs, burglary, theft, road traffic offences and public order matters offences.

Three Men Hit By Car Fleeing From Garda
Three men are being treated in hospital after being hit by a car which was being pursued by gardaí. Gardaí have said a Hyundai Accent struck three men, aged in their 70s, and crashed into two parked cars outside the pitch and putt course in Parteen, Co Clare, at about 17:00 on Thursday.
