Investigation Launched Into Body Found In Car In Embankment

The body of a man has been found inside his car at the bottom of an embankment off the N12 at Tyholland, Co Monaghan.

Garda have launched an investigation into the discovery, saying that it is not known exactly how long the 4x4 vehicle was there.

A post-mortem examination of the victim, understood to be a man aged in his 40s, is due to be carried out at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.

The road where the find was made remains closed to undergo assessment by a garda crash investigation team.

Murder Investigation Launched After Clontarf Fire
Gardai have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a body in a house in Clontarf, north Dublin, which was destroyed in a blaze. The fire broke out around 2:30am on Thursday morning at the house on Seafield Road East. A 38-year-old man was arrested after the fire was extinguished and he was taken to Raheny Garda Station.
