Number Of Foreign Nationals Working Drops
24.1% of foreign nationals assigned PPS numbers in 2007 were employed five years later in 2012.
The figure comes from an annual analysis of the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Social Protection and the Central Statistics Office, based on foreign nationals who were allocated PPS numbers during the 10-year period 2002-2012.
A total of 215,206 PPSNs were allocated to foreign nationals in 2007, while in 2012 this figure had fallen to 72,959. Allocations to foreign national males in 2012 were 37,356, while female allocations were 35,603.
Comparable figures for 2007 revealed 120,024 male and 95,182 female allocations.

High Court Grant Injunction To Stop Woman Travelling For Termination
The High Court has heard a petition from a man, who claims his pregnant girlfriend is being forced by her family to travel to the Ek for an abortion. It is reported that the man wants injunctions to prevent his partner from having a termination, and to prevent her leaving Ireland until it is ascertained if she is acting under her own free will.

Gardaí Probe 'Drink Drive Culture' Among Foreign Nationals.
Gay Byrne, chairman of the Road Safety Authority has revealed the group is working alongside gardaí to investigate claims of a drink driving culture among foreign nationals on Ireland's roads. Mr Byrne insisted that there are as many home-grown bad drivers and without official statistics such allegations must be treated with scepticism.

Suspected Bomb-Making Factory Uncovered In Dublin
Gardaí have uncovered a suspected bomb-making factory in Dublin. It is understood that the owner of a storage facility on Blessington Road found the lock on the unit broken on Monday night at about 21:00. He discovered two men inside the facility "mixing chemicals".
