Statement From Taoiseach Enda Kenny On EU Ukraine Meeting
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has issued a statement on last weeks "extraordinary" meeting of of EU Heads of State and Government to discuss "the deeply worrying situation in Ukraine."
Ahead of next weeks meeting of the European Council the Taoiseach said: "There is an extensive and substantive agenda in addition to Ukraine. As is traditional for the Spring European Council, the focus is on economic issues.
The main agenda items are:
• The European Semester
• The Europe 2020 Strategy
• Industrial Competitiveness
• Climate and Energy , and
• External Relations.
"In Brussels next week, I also expect that we will review ongoing work on taxation issues as well as progress in completing Banking Union. Negotiations are continuing and I remain optimistic that we can reach agreement within the next few weeks."

Body Confirmed As Missing Co Kilkenny Man
Gardaí have found the body of a man that was reported missing two weeks ago. The body of Billy Dooley, of Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, was found in a public toilet in the town. It is understood that gardaí had been searching for Mr Dooley for a fortnight. They say that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Thomas Cook Staff Accept Offer
Workers involved in the Thomas Cook Travel Agent dispute have accepted the company's offer after mediated negotiations. A proposal to quell the anger of the Travel Agent workers was put forward today after being hammered out by union bosses and the company during talks lasting ten hours at the Labour Relations Court yesterday.
