'Ming' Flanagan To Contest European Election
Independent TD Luke 'Ming' Flanagan has announced that he will contest the European Election Constituency of Midlands North West.
Mr Flanagan made the announcement on his Facebook page, saying that he had decided to stand because he believes "Ireland needs to elect people to the European Parliament that carry with them the message that we have gone too far with this 'European project'."
The independent TD laid out his anti-European Union argument, saying that while he is in favour of the European Community, "we are now no longer a member of a community, we are a member of a Union."
Mr Flanagan's statement, posted earlier today, can be read in full on his Facebook page.
