Homes Damaged After Car Explodes In Dublin

A number of homes have been damaged after a car exploded in Dublin on Sunday night.

The incident happened in Long Lane at around 11pm.

Army bomb experts were called in to examine the damage and the area is currently sealed off.

Gardai are asking for any witnesses to contact them immediately.

Paul Kieron Fitzpatrick sued through his mother, Michelle Fitzpatrick of St Catherine's Close, Carman Hall, Dublin, for injuries allegedly sustained during his birth on December 26, 2001.

Traffic Disruption In Dublin After Bridge Damaged
Gardaí have said they are expecting traffic disturbance in Dublin after major works begin today. A spokesman for Gardaí said that due to damage to the Citywest Bridge emergency roadworks will be carried out on the N7 Naas Dual Carriageway from today until Monday.

Thousands Of Dublin Homes Without Power
Around 3,000 homes in Dublin are without power due to damaged underground cables, ESB has reported. It is understood that the power dropped on Wednesday due to damaged underground cables in the Crumlin area. ESB have said that technicians are working on repairing the cables and hope to have power restored to all those affected by early afternoon.

Manhole Explodes In Dublin
An investigation has been launched in Dublin city centre after a manhole cover blew on Friday morning. It is understood the incident happened at the junction of Merrion Street and Baggot Street at 10.20am. Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene. According to eyewitnesses, the lid of the manhole lifted a few feet in the air in the explosion.
