'Beef Summit' Being Held At Dublin Castle

Key stakeholders in the Irish beef trade sector are to meet today at Dublin Castle to prices in the industry.

Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney called the meeting, dubbed "Beef Summit", and the 30 most influential stakeholders in the industry are expected to attend, including Larry Goodman's ABP, Dawn, and Keypack, as well as the main farm organisations, Bord Bia and Teagasc.

The meeting is in response to the bitter row and mistrust that has developed between farmers and beef processors over poor prices for bull beef in recent months.
