Seán Guerin Report To Be Published Today

The report by barrister Seán Guerin into allegations that serious crimes were not investigated properly by gardaí is to be published today, the government have announced.

The 300 page report has been described as "damning", and has already led to the resignation of Alan Shatter ahead of its publication.

The report was commissioned into a dossier of allegations against gardaí was presented to Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin by garda officer Maurice McCabe.

Minister For Justice To Deliver Penalty Points Report
The Minister for Justice is due to deliver his report on the Gardaí administration of penalty points. It is understood that Alan Shatters report to the Cabinet will contain a number of recommendations, some of which will require legislation. The report follows allegations made in 2012 by a garda whistleblower over the processing of penalty points.
