Irish Water Commit To Eliminating Boil Notices
The majority of boil notices, issued when water needs to be boiled before use due to contamination, will be eliminated by the end of 2015, Irish Water has said.
The company has said that ending the need for the notices has been made its first priority.
The commitment was made as the company published its three-year investment plan. The company said that it would invest €1.8bn in water and waste treatment improvements.
It is understood that up to 20,000 are still affected by boil notices.

CER Confirms People With Boil Water Notices Will Not Be Charged
The Commission For Energy Regulation (CER) has confirmed people with boil water notices in Roscommon will not be charged for water supply until the problem has been resolved. Labour Senator John Kelly has welcomed the announcement and said he is glad clarity has been provided.

A Boil Water notice has been re-issued for households and businesses supplied by the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant. Irish Water, in consultation with the HSE and Fingal County Council, have issued the new notice "as a precaution" to protect the health of customers.
