Over 100 Officers Conduct Searches In Waterford
A series of coordinated raids have been carried out across Waterford as part of a targeted investigation into organised crime in the city.
The raids were led by units from the Garda Armed Response Division, with over 100 officers carrying out searches at a number of homes and premises.
It is understood the operation is targeting organised crime and one group in particular thought to be linked to money lending.
To date some 40 arrests have been made in the ongoing operation and gardai say that more are expected following this morning's searches.

Six Arrested In Dawn Raids Across Galway City
Gardaí in Galway have arrested six men in dawn raids across the city. The raids were conducted by the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit as part of Operation Sandman, and ongoing operation tackling the sale of drugs in Galway. The six men are expected to appear before a special setting of Galway District Court later today.

Latest Crime Statistics Show 33% Fall In Homicide Offences
Homicide offences have fallen 33% in the third quarter of 2019, according to the latest Crime Statistics by the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The decrease is said to be in part due to a significant reduction in instances of dangerous driving leading to death; and in part due to a decrease of 17% in instances of murder.
